the clients’ questions and queries.
Clients benefit from the infra-
and supra-structural advantages of the multi-purpose-port as well as
from numerous value-added-services like multimodal transshipment
terminals, warehouse and storage resources, shuttle-transports,
elaborate packing and intelligent contract-services and mar-ket- and
client-oriented service concepts.
For the fully-owned subsidiary in
Antwerp, which delivers custom-made packaging and logistics solutions of
different sizes, we are looking for Branch Manager. This unit employs
two back-office staff and a Technical Warehouse Manager, and works with
external partners for warehousing and technical staff.
BRANCH MANAGER
Responsibilities
The
Branch Manager is responsible for managing the division in Antwerp,
thereby being the SPOC in Belgium for key clients. He/she takes on the
client contract after signature by Sales and manages the operative
project management, orders necessary elements from suppliers, checks
which elements will arrive when, organizes logistics and communicates
with the clients about their specific projects. For that purpose he/she
will liaise with different persons from the partners as well as from the
organization in Germany.
The principal tasks of the Branch Manager are:
- Managing the P&L of the Antwerp branch, thereby working towards objectives such as profitability, claim minimization and customer satisfaction and being supported by Finance at headquarters in Germany.
- Managing the day to day relationship with main clients, regularly interacting with these cli-ents to report updates on project progress
- Interacting with the warehouse partner for organization of logistics
- Ordering of technical equipment, workforce for the containers and other activities, ordering of all necessary products and services from suppliers
- Coordinating the overall project implementation, thereby using the companies own project management tool, checking/coordinating which products/parts will arrive when
- People management of a team of two administrative persons and a technical warehouse supervisor.
- Work closely with various internal divisions such as Commercial, Finance, Legal, Project Management, Technical, as well as with certain board members.
The candidate profile
The ideal candidate has the following profile:
Technical or administrative degree of higher education, or equivalent through experience
Well funded work experience in a logistics environment in a managerial or project man-agement position
Experience in people management
Dutch-speaking with good knowledge of English and German
Knowledge of MS packages, especially Word, Excel and MS Project
The successful candidate should be:
- Relationship builder who works well with clients and easily adapts himself to various type of persons
- People manager, leads, coaches and motivates a small team
- Autonomous and mature to take ownership and manage his/her business unit in an inde-pendent manner
- Organized to manage the various project steps and potential conflicts in a structured man-ner
- Analytical with synthesis in order to understand and optimise the key processes and streamline the Antwerp activities in a systematic manner
- Pragmatic to understand when which actions need to be taken
- Empathic in order to understand subtleties with different person and as such be able to manage interpersonal situations
- Strong communicator who’s comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels
- Flexible to travel outside Belgium (mostly to Germany – Duisburg) when necessary
